Big Bear Lake 2009 - Elevate your Game! Get ready for Big Bear California Multisport, produced by San Bernardino National Forest Association and Team SOLE. This year Big Bear's event will be a little different. It will be a two event multisport that includes only running and biking. We've always said that we'd set a course that maximizes the terrain and geography of the race venue. This year in Big Bear we've decided to take advantage of the incredible alpine terrain, singletrack and mountain trails. But don't think you'll find a single bike course and a single run course. Be prepared for a course that challenges your strength, skills, mental, planning, and ability to think on the fly. VITAL: PACK IN PACK OUT. Everything. We leave nothing at our venue. Course Details: RUN - 9km, MTB - 20km, RUN - 4.5km Course Map: CLICK HERE . Map Description: Start at Discovery Center. Begin on Run #1. Run bike path to Cougar Crest Trailhead Parking Area. Exit Parking Area, run Westbound on Highway 38 to Polique Canyon. Continue on Polique Canyon to Pacific Crest Trail. Run Eastbound on PCT to Cougar Crest Trail. Run down Cougar Crest Trail and take bike path to return to Discovery Center.(this is Clockwise loop) Transition to bikes. Bike through main Discovery Center exit. Bike Westbound on Highway 38 to Polique Canyon. Bike up Polique Canyon to 2N96Y. Left on 2N96Y. Continue Westbound on 2N71. Turn Right on 3N12. Continue on 3N12 to 3N16. Right on 3N16. Right on 2N09 (Polique Canyon). Return to Discovery Center via Highway 38 and main entrance to Discovery Center. (also clockwise loop, around DelMar Mtn) Transition to Run. Run the Pedal path to Cougar Crest Trailhead parking area. Continue on the pedal path under Highway 38. Follow pedal path Westbound through campground to it's end at Northshore Road. (this is counter clock wise loop) Run Eastbound on Northshore Road to Pedal Path and continue under Highway 38 to Cougar Crest parking area. Follow pedal path to return to Discovery Center and finish.
