A Solo, Marked Course, Multisport EventWe will keep you guessing. Events will typically last 3-4 hours. The exact distances will vary for each venue but generally you can expect: mountain bike - 15-20 k; run - 6-10 k; and paddle - 5-8 k. Distances and vertical feet profile will be posted 2 weeks prior to each race. Taken from adventure racing, we will mix up the orders of the events for maximum course enjoyment and allowances of each venue. This will also be posted prior to each event. The events will not require navigation, and will be fully marked. Athletes will expected to pay full attention to markings and general course layout. Stay tuned for the latest on each event. Fun is our mission. Course design is our specialty. We'll have solo and relay team categories. As a relay team each member of the team will complete one section of the course. Solos are also welcome and encouraged to run together and even share a tandem kayak. The top males and females in the solo category will win cash and prizes. The top relay team (teams of 2-3) will win prizes. The Three DisciplinesNOTE CLARIFICATIONS MADE Friday Feb 22,'08. Mountain Biking - The course will be generally all rideable terrain. We aim to incorporate as much NICE single track as each venue will allow. Being in California, do expect hills - up and down. Trail Run/Hike - This might be the most adventurous of the disciplines. Course will generally be on trails, but may be of cross-country and overland travel on occasion. Trust that the crowd will move fast and the pace will be high. WATER: Kayak/Canoe/Surf Ski/Paddleboard- Run what ya brung. That's right. Wide open boat division. Anybody can get their hands on some sort of watercraft regardless of your budget. We will have a few boats for rent, but do not count on this. Venue will generally be an enclosed body of water and typical summer conditions should mean flat, pleasant water. Paddleboard- Welcome to the real fun. It's new, easy and a blast. We will be providing free clinics all over the southland, but even if you have not tried this before, c'mon out and just do it. It would be best to have your own boat/board to practice and train, but if not we'll have demos and boards to rent for cheap. The California Multisport ChampionSeries points will be awarded at each event leading to the Men's and Women's California Multisport Champion. Women and Men will be awarded separate points according to the following point schedule. The top three men and women points leaders will be awarded series prizes and the woman and man with the highest point total will be named the California Multisport Champion. Rank and Points Awarded:
